Your Auction House Watchlist, Parked in Discord

3 min read

I've been building a Discord bot that brings the Auction House to where your guild already hangs out. Add it to your server, point it at a channel, and it keeps a single tidy message up to date with the cheapest buyout for the items you care about — region-wide, and (if you set a home realm) right next to your own realm's price. That side-by-side is the whole idea: you can tell at a glance when it's worth a quick realm hop for a fatter margin, without alt-tabbing into the game.

It's live in beta right now while I test it on a small number of servers. You can add it today — the link's at the bottom.

It looks after itself

Shortly after fresh Auction House data lands for your region — roughly once an hour — the bot refreshes your watchlist, and it only edits the message when a price has actually moved. Small trend arrows show which way the market went since the last update, so a glance is enough. No pinging, no spam, just one message that quietly stays current.

What you get

  • Cheapest realm vs. your home realm, side by side. Every watched item shows the cheapest buyout region-wide, and if you've set a home realm, your own realm's price next to it — the arbitrage view, without any spreadsheet.

  • Variant-aware for crafted gear. Gear that comes in different quality tiers and item levels is tracked as the exact variant, so you're comparing like with like instead of chasing a misleadingly cheap listing.

  • Themes. Pick how the message looks — a few built-in designs (Cards, Compact, Grid) — with /ah theme.

  • All four regions. EU, US, KR and TW.

  • Links back to the full picture. Every price links straight to the matching item page on azerothauctions.com — history, charts, every realm — for when you want the deep dive.

Setting it up

No accounts, no fuss. A server admin sets it up once and the whole server benefits:

  1. Add the bot. It asks for only the permissions it needs to post in one channel — View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links. Nothing more.

  2. Run /ah setup. A short interactive wizard: pick your region and the channel where the watchlist should live — no typing realm names into a form.

  3. Watch your items. Add up to 15 items with /ah watch (autocomplete helps you find them). The bot posts one message and keeps it fresh from there.

Want your own realm's price in the message too? /ah home sets or clears a home realm. /ah panel puts adding, removing and theming in one place, and /ah help walks through the whole workflow. If something breaks or you've got an idea, /feedback comes straight to me.

The command list

  • /ah setup — pick your region and the channel for the watchlist.

  • /ah watch — add an item (up to 15 per server).

  • /ah unwatch — remove an item.

  • /ah home — set or clear your home realm.

  • /ah list — show everything you're currently watching.

  • /ah theme — choose the embed design.

  • /ah panel — manage items and theme in one place.

  • /ah help — the full workflow.

  • /ah status — check the bot's setup and last update.

  • /feedback — send feedback about the bot.

Prices show in gold, silver and copper, the way you read them in-game. For graded materials and crafted gear, autocomplete lets you pick the exact rank or item-level variant you care about.

Adding it

It's in beta while I shake it down on a small set of servers, so slots are limited for now — but if you'd like in, you can add it straight to your server:

Poking around and something feels off, or you wish it did one more thing? That's exactly what /feedback is for — it lands with me directly.
